NFL announces Henry Hodgson and Charlotte Offord as UK and Australia general managers, plus more

The National Football League (NFL) has appointed Henry Hodgson and Charlotte Offord as managing directors for the UK and Australia respectively.

Hodgson, previously the league’s vice president of international marketing, will lead the NFL’s UK business and report to Brett Gosper, head of Europe and the UK.

In his new role, Hodgson will have overall responsibility for delivering the NFL UK’s strategic priorities, including fan growth, maximizing live games, overall sport development and supporting continued business growth in the country.

Offord will leave her current role as NFL UK’s senior marketing manager to lead business in Australia and New Zealand. Reporting to Damani Leech, Chief Operating Officer, International, she will be the league’s first full-time employee in Australia.

The NFL has identified Australia as one of its fastest growing emerging markets, and Offord will play a key role in supporting fan growth, football development and revenue generation.

The pair will be their new roles in July 2022.

“I am delighted to return to the UK and have the opportunity to build on the incredible momentum of the last decade,” Hodgson said.

“Growth is evident in the size of the fan base and how NFL fans interact with the sport on TV, social media, at games in London and through multiple other touchpoints. . I look forward to working with the talented NFL UK team to continue this growth.

Offord added: “Having been involved in the development of the NFL in the UK over the past ten years, I am delighted to take this opportunity to drive fan growth and football development in these markets.

“Australia and New Zealand are two countries that already have a rich sports culture, so I’m looking forward to bringing sports fans in these territories closer to American football.”

Elsewhere, ticketing technology company SeatGeek and RedBall Acquisition Corp announced the latest additions to the combined company’s board of directors, ahead of the pair’s proposed merger. Anne BairdChief Revenue Officer at Outreach, and Melissa SelcherLinkedIn chief marketing officer, join Jack Groetzinger, Russell D’Souza, John Locke, Steve Hafner and Laurel Richie.

President of Apex Capital Luis Vicente joined the Fantasy Soccer mobile app and non-fungible token (NFT) market ActualFebr as a non-executive advisor to the board of directors.

Notes: Cook will work with football’s world governing body to create an independent international body to investigate cases of abuse in the sport.

Notes: Key, who played 15 Test matches for England, replaces Ashley Giles who left in February.
